Some kids have a tough time recognizing that tha parabola created when graphing the height vs. time of a falling object isn't actually the path the ball takes. This seemed to help clear it up with some students today.

Great idea. I just showed a graph yesterday of a plane's altitude as it's landing. I had so many kids say "it's going to crash!" "It's diving straight into the ground!" I did my best to explain it, but your idea would work much better.
I don't know if you have access to Discovery Chan. vids, but Myth Busters did a show on this recently... Kinda fun
